Origami‐Inspired Structural Design for Aquatic‐Terrestrial Amphibious Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a lightweight amphibious origami robot actuated by a single shape memory alloy wire. A rigid foldable origami structure with displacement amplification enables efficient terrestrial crawling and aquatic swimming. The addition of fan‐shaped units allows controllable turning in both environments.

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

The influence of water jet diameter and bone structural properties on the efficiency of pure water jet drilling in porcine bone [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Sciences, 2014
Using water jets in orthopedic surgery to drill holes in bones can be beneficial due to the absence of thermal damage and the always sharp cut. To minimize operating time and the volume of water that is used, the efficiency (volume of removed bone per ...

Characteristics of Plane Submerged Water Jets Influenced by Boundaries.

open access: yesJournal of the Visualization Society of Japan, 1999
Photographs have been presented for plane submerged water jets influenced by both boundaries of a free and a solid surface. Visualization of the flow and diffusion of contaminants were realized by a solid tracer method using polystyrene particles, and turbulence in the flow direction of the developing jets was measured with a hot-film anemometer.

Jet penetration and liquid splash in submerged gas injection

open access: yes, 1973
Jet penetration, bubble dispersion, and liquid splash were studied in the nitrogen-water system. Among the effects evaluated were those due to lance design, nozzle dimensions, gas driving pressure, and liquid density.
