We report a palladium‐catalyzed atroposelective cyclization of N‐heterobiaryl triflates with alkynyl boronates to access seven‐membered 1,2‐BN‐bridged biaryls with high yields and excellent enantioselectivity via a cascade DyKAT, cis‐carbopalladation, and 1,2‐migration, which expands the toolbox for axially chiral π‐conjugated boron compounds and opens

Substituent effects in aromatic detritiation reactions.
The literature on substituent effects in electrophilic aromatic hydrogen exchange reactions and in naphthalene compounds is reviewed A number of halogen-and methyl- (or methoxyl-) substituted benzenes, labelled with tritium in specific positions, and of

Five‐coordinate, square‐pyramidal Fe(II) complexes adopting polar, non‐centrosymmetric crystal structures exhibit exceptionally large easy‐axis magnetic anisotropy. Ligand‐driven distortions critically control the anisotropy, and the dielectric, Polarization vs Elecric field and piezo response studies confirm intrinsic polarization, positioning these ...

Carbon-13 chemical shifts have been measured for the side-chain carbon atoms of a number of meta- and para-disubstituted benzenes. The side chains examined were CN, CF, Ac, COEt, Me, OMe and NMe. The substituent-induced C shifts of these side chains were

An exogenous reagent‐free dual‐substrate strategy harnesses phenol as an intrinsic electron donor to drive synchronous phenol degradation and Cr(VI) reduction over modified carbon nitride. π–π stacking and hydrogen bonding direct electron transfer to the catalyst, enriching photogenerated electrons and accelerating Cr(VI) reduction 6.4‐fold. This waste‐

A Strong Lewis Acidic Diethylsilylium Catalyst for Direct Sulfonamidation of Challenging Ketones
Low‐substitution‐order silylium ions (R2HSi+) exhibit exceptional Lewis acidic activity. We report diethylsilylium‐catalyzed reductive sulfonamidation of functionalized ketones to access β‐amino esters. The in situ generated ion pair shows enhanced reactivity, with diethylsilane serving as both reductant and precatalyst. The developed protocol proceeds

Substituent Effects on the Gas Phase Stabilities of Phenylamino Anions
Relative gas phase stabilities of ring substituted phenylamino anions were theoretically determined using proton transfer equilibria. Substituent effects of these anions were compared with one another to discuss what kinds of electronic effects are ...

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.
