A novel of substitution-box design using PLL algorithms in magic cube

open access: yes, 2021
In most modern symmetric ciphers, substitution boxes are non-linear core components that provide robust security and confusion. The construction of active S-boxes has been hot object among safely experts. The goal is at build a cryptographically active S-

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Secured Low Power Overhead Compensator Look-Up-Table (LUT) Substitution Box (S-Box) Architecture

open access: yes, 2016
Substitution-Box (S-Box) is an important security building block for the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. However, its high power dissipation always compromises with its security feature under Correlation Power Analysis (CPA) attack. In this

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Outsourcing of services, imported materials and the demand for heterogeneous labour : an application of a generalised box-cox function [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the effects that purchased services and imported intermediate materials have on the labour demand for different skills in the manufacturing sector.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Factor Substitution and Factor Augmenting Technical Progress in the US: A Normalized Supply-Side System Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
Using a normalized CES function with factor-augmenting technical progress, we estimate a supply-side system of the US economy from 1953 to 1998. Avoiding potential estimation biases that have occurred in earlier studies and putting a high emphasis on the

A novel efficient substitution-box design based on firefly algorithm and discrete chaotic map [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Substitution boxes are essential nonlinear components responsible to impart strong confusion and security in most of modern symmetric ciphers. Constructing efficient S-boxes has been a prominent topic of interest for security experts.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
