A procedure for improving discrete substructures representation in dynamic synthesis

Dynamics Specialists Conference, 1981
N important problem in the dynamic analysis for flexible structures is that of determining the natural frequencies and associated natural modes of vibration, particularly the lower ones. Complex structures are often represented by mathematical models, such as finite-element models, possessing a very large number of degrees of freedom, where the number ...

Synthesis and substructure of oriented CuInSe2 films

Inorganic Materials, 2005
The substructure, phase composition, and orientation of CuInSe2 (CIS) films produced by consecutive deposition from two-component vapors (Cu-Se and then In-Se) were studied by transmission electron microscopy. The films were grown by thermal evaporation from separate elemental sources and by magnetron sputtering of compound targets.

Dynamic Synthesis of Nonclassically Damped Substructures

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1989
A synthesis approach is presented for calculating the complex eigen‐properties of a nonclassically damped structure from the complex eigenproperties of the constituent substructures which are also nonclassically damped. In this approach, the substructures are successively coupled, one degree of freedom at a time.

Asymmetric Synthesis of the Ring A Substructure of Genkwadane A

Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 2018
AbstractA practical approach to the asymmetric synthesis of the ring A substructure of genkwadane A, a daphnane diterpenoid, was developed. This synthesis features the Mukaiyama aldol reaction to introduce the quaternary stereogenic center at C4 and VO(acac)2‐catalyzed Jackson‐Ellman‐Bolm sulfoxidation to deliver the corresponding sulfoxide.

An analytical approach for structural synthesis of substructures

KSME International Journal, 2004
A structure is broken down into a number of substructures by means of the finite element method and the substructures are synthesized for the complete structure. The divided substructures take two types : fixed-free and free-free elements. The flexibility and stiffness matrices of the free-free elements are the Moore-Penrose inverse of each other. Thus,

Synthesis of the BCD‐Ring Substructure of Granaticin A

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
AbstractThe BCD‐ring substructure of granaticin A was synthesised following a new approach for the construction of the naphthoquinone moiety. The 2‐oxabicyclo[2.2.2]oct‐5‐ene substructure was accessible stereoselectively using a Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation and a diastereoselective ketone reduction in combination with Yoshii's route.

Dynamic condensation with synthesis of substructure eigenproperties

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1992
Summary: For structures divided into substructures which are defined by their eigenproperties, a combination of the node synthesis and condensation techniques is presented to obtain a first few important eigenproperties of the combined system accurately. The accuracy of the calculated modal properties can be increased by iteratively solving an improved

SUBSTRUCTURE SYNTHESIS VIA ELASTIC MEDIA

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2002
Abstract This paper presents a brief review of previous developments in substructure synthesis methods using frequency response functions and proposes a new coupling analysis approach which takes into account the effect of elastic media between substructures—the so-called general joint description method (GJDM).

Substructuring and modal synthesis for damped systems

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1983
A new approach using the concepts of modal synthesis is proposed to study general viscous damping problems. This method involves two successive transformations based upon consecutive utilization of three-interface modes in the existing physical co-ordinates followed by fixed interface modes in the generalized co-ordinates.
