Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

Subtype-Selective Fluorescent Ligands as Pharmacological Research Tools for the Human Adenosine A2A Receptor

open access: yes, 2019
Among class A G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR), the human adenosine A2A receptor (hA2AAR) remains an attractive drug target. However, translation of A2AAR ligands into the clinic has proved challenging and an improved understanding of A2AAR ...

AChBP-targeted alpha-conotoxin correlates distinct binding orientations with nAChR subtype selectivity

open access: yes, 2007
Neuronal nAChRs are a diverse family of pentameric ion channels with wide distribution throughout cells of the nervous and immune systems. However, the role of specific subtypes in normal and pathological states remains poorly understood due to the lack ...

Identification of efferocytosis-related subtypes in gliomas and elucidating their characteristics and clinical significance

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2023
Introduction: Gliomas, the most prevalent tumors of the central nervous system, are known for their aggressive nature and poor prognosis. The heterogeneity among gliomas leads to varying responses to the same treatments, even among similar glioma types ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
