PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Addressing the Unmet Need in Acne Management: A Novel Dermocosmetics Guideline Tailored to Asian Patient Subgroups

open access: yesCosmetics
Acne, a commonly treated skin disease, requires control of one’s daily routine for an optimal outcome. As skincare products continue to advance, and with the introduction of dermocosmetics (active cosmetics, functional cosmetics, cosmeceuticals), it is ...

On the properties of contact binary stars

open access: yes, 2004
A catalogue of light curve solutions of contact binary stars has been compiled. It contains the results of 159 light curve solutions. Properties of contact binary stars were studied by using the catalogue data. As it is well known since Lucy's (1968a,b)

Decompositions of a polygon into centrally symmetric pieces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we deal with edge-to-edge, irreducible decompositions of a centrally symmetric convex $(2k)$-gon into centrally symmetric convex pieces. We prove an upper bound on the number of these decompositions for any value of $k$, and characterize ...

Efficient recursive subtyping

open access: yesMathematical Structures in Computer Science, 1992
Subtyping in the presence of recursive types for the λ-calculus was studied by Amadio and Cardelli in 1991 (Amadio and Cardelli 1991). In that paper they showed that the problem of deciding whether one recursive type is a subtype of another is decidable in exponential time. In this paper we give an 0(n2) algorithm.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
