Metabolome-guided genomics to identify mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase, fumarate hydratase and succinate dehydrogenase genes in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma

open access: yesGenetics in Medicine, 2018
Metabolic aberrations have been described in neoplasms with pathogenic variants (PV) in the Krebs cycle genes encoding succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), fumarate hydratase (FH) and isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH).

Dietary Glutamine Supplementation Alleviated Rumen Epithelium Oxidative Damage and Apoptosis Induced by Feed Restriction via Maintaining Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Female Yaks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary glutamine (Gln) supplementation increased the ATP levels and promoted cell proliferation in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks. Besides, Gln inhibited ROS accumulation and reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks.

CLINICAL-PATHOGENIC IMPORTANCE OF CORRELATION BETWEEN HISTOCHEMICAL INDICES OF BLOOD SYSTEM AND RHEUMATOID FACTOR IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

open access: yesНаучно-практическая ревматология, 2001
Summary Relation between rheumatoid factor (RF) and levels of Myeloperoxidase (MPO), Na*-K +-A TPh- ase (ATPh-ase), 5'-Nucleotidase (5 ’-NT), Succinate dehydrogenase (SDG) in cells of peripheral blood of rheumatoid arthritis (RA ...

Cancer metabolism at a glance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A defining hallmark of cancer is uncontrolled cell proliferation. This is initiated once cells have accumulated alterations in signaling pathways that control metabolism and proliferation, wherein the metabolic alterations provide the energetic and ...

Increasing the succinate yield in Actinobacillus succinogenes by fumigation of H2 in a bioreactor

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract The microbial conversion of CO2 into value‐added chemicals offers a promising and scalable route for sustainable bioproduction, particularly under mild reaction conditions and with technically straightforward reactor configurations. Actinobacillus succinogenes, a natural succinate producer, can fix CO2 through anaplerotic carboxylation but its

Fluoride Increases Superoxide Production and Impairs the Respiratory Chain in ROS 17/2.8 Osteoblastic Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
It is known that fluoride produces oxidative stress. Inflammation in bone tissue and an impairment of the respiratory chain of liver have been described in treatments with fluoride. Whether the impairment of the respiratory chain and oxidative stress are

Tumour risks and genotype–phenotype correlations associated with germline variants in succinate dehydrogenase subunit genes SDHB, SDHC and SDHD

open access: yesJournal of Medical Genetics, 2018
Background Germline pathogenic variants in SDHB/SDHC/SDHD are the most frequent causes of inherited phaeochromocytomas/paragangliomas. Insufficient information regarding penetrance and phenotypic variability hinders optimum management of mutation ...
