Delivery of Islatravir via High Drug‐Load, Long‐acting Microarray Patches for the Prevention or Treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Islatravir‐loaded dissolving microarray patches (MAPs) provide a minimally invasive, long‐acting solution for HIV‐1 prevention and treatment. In rats, sustained islatravir delivery lasts up to three months, while in minipigs, efficacious plasma levels are detected for six days.

Metabolic Control of Sugarcane Internode Elongation and Sucrose Accumulation

open access: yesAgronomy
The relationship between metabolic changes occurring in the developing internodes of sugarcane and the final yield and sugar characteristics is poorly understood due to the lack of integration between phenotypic and metabolic data. To address this issue,

Plant age effect on asparagus yielding in terms of carbohydrate balance

open access: yesFolia Horticulturae, 2008
In order to examine the effect of plant age on asparagus yielding, the number and weight of spears were analyzed. The experiment was carried out on 1-, 4- and 7-year-old plants in the aeroponic system with recirculation. The results showed that the spear

Covalent Binding of Dexamethasone to Polyimide Improves Biocompatibility of Neural Implantable Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The covalent binding of dexamethasone to the surface of polyimide represents the electrically inert part of implantable intraneural devices. This ensures a sustained release of the drug for 9 weeks. In vitro and in vivo tests confirm the reduction of the foreign body reactions and the improved biocompatibility of dexamethasone functionalized polyimide.

Modification of Silica with Sucrose and Ammonium Fluoride Agents: A Facile Route to Prepare Supports of Iridium Catalysts for Hydrogenation Reaction

open access: yesMolecules
Mesoporous silica materials were synthesized using inexpensive and environmentally friendly sucrose as a porogeneous agent. It was found that the presence of sucrose and the products of its chemical transformation during synthesis (e.g., furfural polymer)
