Sap-Sugar Content of Grafted Sugar Maple Trees

open access: yes, 1985
In March and April 1983, 289 and 196 young grafted sugar maple trees were tapped and evaluated for sap-sugar content. In April, sap was collected from taps both above and below the graft union. Diameter of all tapped trees at 18 inches above the ground was measured.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Potassium Determines Sugar Beets’ Yield and Sugar Content under Drip Irrigation Condition

open access: yesSustainability, 2022
Sugar beet is one of the main sugar crops and an important cash crop in the three northern regions of China (Northeast China, North China, and Northwest China). As an arid region, Xinjiang lacks water resources. The establishment of a reasonable drip-irrigation system for sugar beet in Xinjiang can not only achieve the goal of high quality and high ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Evaluation quality of sugar beet grown on soils highly infected with rhizomania [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Matice Srpske za Prirodne Nauke, 2006
A field trial study with sugar beet varieties having different resistances to Rhizomania was conducted at two test sites in 2004. The field trials were located at Ruma (the Agricultural station) and at Sremska Mitrovica (the Institute of Agriculture). At

Optimization of Low Sugar Loquat Mulberry Compound Jam Formula

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
Aiming at the defects of traditional high sugar jam, loquat and mulberry were used as main raw materials to develop low sugar compound jam. The ratio of loquat in the compound fruit pulp, citric acid addition, white granulated sugar addition and pectin ...

Effects of soil variation between peat soil and mineral soil on fruit quality of pineapple (Ananas Comosus) cultivars: N36 and josapine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Consumption of pineapple is predicted to increase in the near future in which the demand for continuous supply of the fruit becomes of major interest. This research is focused on finding the influence of growth medium between peat soil and mineral soil ...

Seed vigor, aging, and osmopriming affect anion and sugar leakage during imbition of maize (Zea mays L.) caryopses [PDF]

open access: yes
Conductivity was significantly increased by aging and decreased by osmopriming of maize (Zea mays L.) caryopses. Chloride, phosphate, and sulfate were the main anions that leaked out of maize seeds; their leakage was closely related to conductivity ...
