Etoposide, a topoisomerase II inhibitor, reduces O‐GlcNAcylation in HepG2 liver cancer cells. Further inhibition of O‐GlcNAc transferase by OSMI‐1 enhanced etoposide‐induced apoptosis, lowering the IC50 for viability and increasing the EC50 for cytotoxicity.

Effect of pH and Fermentation Time on the Biohydrogen Production from Sugar Cane Molasse [PDF]
Biohydrogen is one of promising alternative renewable energy sources. This can be produced through sugar fermentation in anaerobic condition. In this research, the potential of biohydrogen production from molasse using cow dung as inoculums is ...

Boundaries of photosynthesis: adaptations of carbon fixation in extreme environments
Photosynthesis faces challenges from environmental extremes of temperature, pH, and salinity, limiting gas diffusion, modifying membrane fluidity, and destabilizing photochemical and biochemical reactions. Photosynthetic organisms have evolved unique adaptations overcoming these stresses and maintaining their photosynthetic activity.

Abstract The NLR family pyrin domain‐containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a vital part of the innate immune response, whilst its aberrant activation drives the progression of several noncommunicable diseases. It induces caspase‐1 activation and the downstream substrates involved with the processing and secretion of the pro‐inflammatory cytokines IL‐1β ...

SUGAR: Pre-training 3D Visual Representations for Robotics [PDF]
Learning generalizable visual representations from Internet data has yielded promising results for robotics. Yet, prevailing approaches focus on pre-training 2D representations, being sub-optimal to deal with occlusions and accurately localize objects in complex 3D scenes.

Mapping high-growth phenotypes in the flux space of microbial metabolism [PDF]
Experimental and empirical observations on cell metabolism cannot be understood as a whole without their integration into a consistent systematic framework. However, the characterization of metabolic flux phenotypes is typically reduced to the study of a single optimal state, like maximum biomass yield that is by far the most common assumption. Here we

A weather-based yield-forcasting model for sugar beet.
A simple model to predict seasonal growth in sugarbeet yield is presented. Time from sowing to the 'growth point date' (the date on which a plant contained 4 g sugar) is characterized by a temp. sum. The increase in sugar yield after this date is calculated from incoming solar radiation using an av. radiation use efficiency. Temp.

Abstract Objective We examined whether riluzole treatment modifies the associations between the dietary glycemic index (GI) and load (GL) and disease progression in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Methods Sporadic ALS patients in the Multicenter Cohort Study of Oxidative Stress who completed a baseline food frequency questionnaire were included (n
