Dry Deposition Strategies for MALDI–MS Imaging: Principles, Advances and Emerging Applications

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI–MSI) has become a pivotal tool in biomedical research, enabling untargeted, spatially resolved analysis of molecular species in complex biological tissues. Among the critical steps in MALDI–MSI workflows, matrix deposition significantly influences sensitivity, spatial

Administration of Sulfatide to Ameliorate Type I Diabetes in Non-Obese Diabetic Mice

open access: yes, 2014
The endogenous glycosphingolipid sulfatide is a ligand for CD1d-restricted type II natural killer T (NKT) lymphocytes. Through the action of these cells, sulfatide treatment has been shown to modulate the immune response in mouse models for autoimmune ...

Brain MRI and biological diagnosis in five Tunisians MLD patients

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2012
Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is a recessive autosomal disease which is characterized by an accumulation of sulfatides in the central and peripheral nervous system. It is due to the enzyme deficiency of the sulfatide sulfatase i.e.

Sulfatide levels correlate with severity of neuropathy in metachromatic leukodystrophy

open access: yes, 2015
ObjectiveMetachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder due to deficient activity of arylsulfatase A (ASA) that causes accumulation of sulfatide and lysosulfatide. The disorder is associated with demyelination and

Structure of sulfatides biosynthesized in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1971
Starting from galactose-(14)C-labeled phrenosine and 3'-phosphoadenosine-5'-phosphosulfate, radioactive sulfatides have been obtained in vitro with a biosynthetic system similar to the one described by McKhann and Ho (Ref. 6). It has thus been proved that exogenous cerebrosides can act as acceptors of sulfate.
