The Sustainable Potential of Single‐Ion Conducting Polymers

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Single‐ion conducting polymers (SICPs) advance sustainable energy storage by combining CO2‐derived polycarbonate synthesis with efficient thiol‐ene and networking strategies for ionic functionality. Their selective lithium‐ion transport enables applications as electrolytes, binders, and protective interlayers in next‐generation batteries.

The interaction between mercury(II) and sulfathiazole

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2003
The interaction of mercury(II) with sulfathiazole has been analyzed. IR and NMR spectral studies suggest a coordination of Hg(II) with the Nthiazolic atom, unlike related Hg-sulfadrugs compounds.

Electrochemical Three‐component Synthesis of Alkenesulfonates from Cinnamic Acids, SO2, and Alcohols

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
An electrochemical three‐component synthesis of alkyl alkenesulfonates from cinnamic acids, SO2, and alkyl alcohols is reported. This metal‐free process employs inexpensive and readily available graphite electrodes in combination with easy‐to‐use stock solutions of SO2 and enables a straightforward decarboxylative preparation of styrene sulfonates via ...

Asymmetric Benzene Sulfonamide Sodium Salt Enabling Stable Cycling in Solid‐State Sodium Metal Batteries

open access: yesChemSusChem, Accepted Article.
With renewable energy and electric vehicles driving demand, safer and cost‐effective alternatives to lithium‐ion batteries are being sought. This study explores the development of a novel sodium salt, sodium (benzenesulfonyl)(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (NaBTFSI), for all‐solid‐state sodium metal batteries (ASSSMBs).

The red blood cell as a mediator of endothelial dysfunction in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 293, Issue 2, Page 228-245, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) display high levels of low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐c), endothelial dysfunction, and increased risk of premature atherosclerosis. We have previously shown that red blood cells (RBCs) from patients with type 2 diabetes induce endothelial dysfunction through increased ...
