Diastereoselective Synthesis of Polysubstituted 2‐Amidino Thiolanes via Cycloaddition of N‐Thioacyl Amidines With Donor–Acceptor Cyclopropanes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 16, 18 August 2026.
A MgBr2‐catalyzed (3+2) cycloaddition between N‐thioacyl amidines and donor–acceptor cyclopropanes provides rapid access to 2‐amidino‐thiolanes in good yields and with high diastereoselectivities. The method displays broad substrate scope and offers an efficient route to sulfur‐containing amidine scaffolds of potential biological relevance.

Effect of Solvent Hydrogen‐Bonding and Catalyst Pore Size on Catalytic Oxidation of Benzylic Alcohols

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Selective benzylic alcohol oxidation using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is catalyzed by an array of Ti‐silica materials. Sulfolane solvent strongly interacts with the reactant and enhances rates versus acetonitrile solvent in wide pore materials, but negative transport effects dominate in smaller‐pore materials. Partially overcoated catalysts stabilize the

Base‐Mediated Degradation of Epoxy Thermosets via Carbon–Nitrogen Bond Cleavage for the Recovery of Amine Agents

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Degradation of epoxy thermosets cured by bis(arylamine)s as curing agents proceeded via cleaving carbon−oxygen and −nitrogen main chains. The present conditions were based on the use of NaOH in 1,3‐dimethyl‐2‐imidazolidinone with the assistance of Ca(OH)2 to form core organic substrates in the epoxy monomers and parent curing agents.

Synthetic Strategies for Activity‐Based Probes to Decode Ubiquitin‐Like Modifiers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 30, 13 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) such as SUMO, NEDD8, ISG15, URM1, UFM1, FAT10, ATG8/ATG12, and FUBI are essential regulators of cellular homeostasis, controlling processes from protein stability and trafficking to immune signaling and autophagy.

Synthesis of the Core Tetracycle of the Spirobiflavonoid Daphnodorin C

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 30, 12 August 2026.
Core spirotetracycle of daphnodorin C: Oxidative ring contraction of benzofuro[3,2‐b]chromenones affords novel 2,3′‐spirobi[benzofuran]diones, rather than the isomeric spiroketals. The first synthesis of the spirobi[benzofuran]dione core structure of the spirobiflavonoid daphnodorin C is described.

Synthesis and Glycosidase Inhibition Studies of Novel Exoglycals Targeting GH3 Family Enzymes: Insights from Comparative Analysis with Macrolide Antibiotics

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 29, 7 August 2026.
A series of structurally diverse exoglycals was synthesized using a modified Julia‐olefination approach from sugar‐derived precursors. These glycosidase transition‐state mimics were further diversified via CuAAC chemistry to yield triazole‐conjugated analogues.
