Antimetastatic activity of Sulforaphane

Life Sciences, 2006
The effect of Sulforaphane on the inhibition of lung metastasis induced by B16F-10 melanoma cells was studied in C57BL/6 mice by three different modalities of administration-simultaneous, prophylactic and after tumour developed. Of this simultaneous mode of Sulforaphane administration was found to be most effective.

Sulforaphane and prostate cancer interception

Drug Discovery Today, 2014
Whereas much attention is focused on distinguishing newly diagnosed prostate cancers that will progress to become aggressive forms of the disease from those that will remain indolent, it is also appropriate to explore therapeutic and lifestyle interventions to reduce the risk of progression.

Evolution of sulforaphane content in sulforaphane-enriched broccoli during tray drying

Journal of Food Engineering, 2016
Abstract Sulforaphane is a natural anticancer compound found in broccoli that comes from hydrolysis of glucoraphanin. Conversion of glucoraphanin to sulforaphane has been optimized, however, its use as functional ingredient is limited because sulforaphane is thermo-labile.

Sulforaphane Induces Glioprotection After LPS Challenge

Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, 2020
Sulforaphane is a natural compound that presents anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, including in the central nervous system (CNS). Astroglial cells are involved in several functions to maintain brain homeostasis, actively participating in the inflammatory response and antioxidant defense systems.

Sulforaphane protects against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity

Toxicology Letters, 2010
Cisplatin (cis-diamminedichloroplatinum II, CDDP) is a chemotherapeutic agent that induces nephrotoxicity associated with oxidative/nitrosative stress. Sulforaphane (SFN) is an isothiocyanate produced by the enzymatic action of myrosinase on glucorophanin, a glucosinolate contained in cruciferous vegetables. SFN is able to induce cytoprotective enzymes

Sulforaphane protects against acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2015
Oxidative stress is closely associated with acetaminophen (APAP)-induced toxicity. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), an antioxidant defense enzyme, has been shown to protect against oxidant-induced tissue injury. This study investigated whether sulforaphane (SFN), as a HO-1 inducer, plays a protective role against APAP hepatotoxicity in vitro and in vivo ...
