We develop vacancy‐rich Co9S6.29 precatalysts formed via ultrafine MnS‐induced lattice distortion in mesoporous S‐doped N‐rich hollow carbon nanotubes (CM@SNHCTs). This CM@SNHCT precatalyst is reconstructed into catalytically‐active cathode phases that enable efficient oxygen reduction/evolution reactions (ORR/OER) through dynamic O‐vacancy formation ...

Cu‐MXene interfacial catalysts provide a promising platform for electrochemical NOx upcycling to ammonia. The synergy between Cu active sites and conductive, surface‐tunable MXene supports promotes NOx adsorption, intermediate stabilization, and selective NH3 formation while suppressing competing hydrogen evolution, offering a route toward sustainable ...

Abstract In the Lake Koocanusa‐Kootenai River system (Montana, USA and British Columbia, Canada), selenium (Se) contamination has become an international concern and is suspected to contribute to the observed burbot (Lota lota) population collapse. Due to our limited ability to sample burbot in Lake Koocanusa for monitoring studies, we used a reference

It is definitely shown that the main cause of error encountered in the precision isotope analysis of sulfur is in the isotope exchange reaction between SO2 and SO3 during the combustion process of SO2 preparation. The isotope fractionation factor between the two oxides is estimated to be 1.0035 at 1200°C.

Methane-carbon flow into the benthic food web at cold seeps – a case study from the Costa Rica subduction zone [PDF]
Cold seep ecosystems can support enormous biomasses of free-living and symbiotic chemoautotrophic organisms that get their energy from the oxidation of methane or sulfide.

Emerging Materials and Future Strategies for Solid Oxide Electrochemical Cells
Solid oxide electrochemical cells operate under strongly coupled electrochemical and thermodynamic conditions, where performance is constrained by interactions among crystal structure, defect chemistry, and interfacial evolution. This review, based on a structure‐defect‐property‐durability framework, reveals the roles of lattice symmetry and defect ...
