Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

Summative assessment: a historical perspective [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of General Practice, 2008
In 1990 the Joint Chairs of the Joint Committee on Postgraduate Training for General Practice (JCPTGP), The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), and the General Medical Services Committee (GMSC) decided that a Statement of Satisfactory Completion of Training should reflect the actual performance of the GP registrar and that a Certificate of ...

Programmable 2D Magnetic Clusterphenes With High Curie Temperature and Strong Magnetic Anisotropy via Cluster Assembly and Ligand Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Programmable 2D magnetic clusterphenes are realized through a ligand‐mediated cluster‐assembly strategy. Direct linking of magnetic superatomic clusters enhances electron delocalization and symmetry breaking, enabling the concurrent strengthening of magnetic exchange interactions and spin–orbit coupling.

Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

Classroom assessment practices in middle school science lessons: A study among Greek science teachers

open access: yesCogent Education, 2018
This study aims to examine the classroom assessment practices of five science teachers, alongside the teachers’ own perspectives of them, within the rather poorly investigated Greek educational system. In Greece, student assessment at the level of middle

Utilizing Formative Assessment Culture in EFL teacher education programs in the Middle East [PDF]

open access: yesMaǧallaẗ Kulliyyaẗ Al-Tarbiyyẗ Ǧamiʿaẗ Banhā, 2019
Although there is general agreement that there is a difference between assessment of learning (summative assessment), and assessment for learning (formative assessment), and that both forms of assessment have valuable roles to play, comparatively little ...

Peer Assessment Experience as Summative Evaluation

open access: yes2023 XIII International Conference on Virtual Campus (JICV), 2023
Co-evaluation is a didactic technique that develops students’ deep learning and promotes formative evaluation with immediate feedback. In addition, it reduces the teacher's workload, especially in large groups. However, the use of peer assessment results as a measure of summativeVassessment is still under discussion.

Conformational Switching of Proteins on Material Surfaces Enabled by Peptide‐Oriented Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Responsive biointerfaces could be achieved using conformationally responsive proteins; however, their interconversion can be lost upon surface adsorption. Herein, we demonstrate that the incorporation a Au binding peptide into calmodulin allows for binding control on Au wherein the protein retains conformational switching. This capability was confirmed
