Stimulated Supercontinuum Generation

open access: yesOptical Fiber Communication Conference and National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2009
We demonstrate active control over optical rogue waves with a weak optical seed. With this effect, we stimulate supercontinuum generation, resulting in greatly enhanced stability and coherence. The phenomenon also facilitates all-optical three-terminal devices.

Multi-octave supercontinuum generation from mid-infrared filamentation in a bulk crystal

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
We present supercontinuum generation pumped by femtosecond mid-infrared pulses in a bulk homogeneous material. The spectrum extends from 450 nm into the midinfrared, and carries high spectral energy density (3 pJ/nm–10 nJ/nm). The supercontinuum has high

Two-Octave Supercontinuum Generation of High-Order OAM Modes in Air-Core As₂S₃ Ring Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this work, we design and simulate an air-core As2S3 ring fiber for high-order orbital angular momentum (OAM) supercontinuum generation. We show that the chromatic dispersion of the ring fiber can be substantially tailored by proper optimization of the

Supercontinuum generation in high-index doped silica photonic integrated circuits under diverse pumping settings [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Recent years have witnessed remarkable progress in enhancing the supercontinuum (SC) generation in highly nonlinear photonic integrated waveguides. In this study, we conduct a comprehensive investigation into supercontinuum (SC) generation in high-index ...

Active Supercontinuum Injection for Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplification

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
The anticipant supercontinuum is a prerequisite for the pump seed generation in an optical parametric chirped pulse amplification (OPCPA) system. To achieve the anticipant supercontinuum, we develop an active method operated in a two-level control scheme

Ultra-wideband and coherent supercontinuum generation (near and mid-infrared) in dispersion flattened ZnGeP2 photonic crystal fiber

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2023
Transmission window is a major concern in selecting the background material of photonic crystal fiber for supercontinuum generation. In this work, Zinc-Germanium Diphosphide (ZnGeP2) based single material photonic crystal fiber has been proposed with ...

Second‐Harmonic Hyper‐Mie Optical Activity Enables Closed‐Loop Chiral Photochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nonlinear chiral photochemistry is demonstrated in CdTe/CdO nanohelices, where circularly polarized infrared light both drives and tracks photo‐oxidation via second‐harmonic scattering. This closed‐loop process reveals real‐time structural evolution, including shell fracturing and core exposure, accompanied by a transition from hyper‐Mie to hyper ...

Programmable and tunable flat-top supercontinuum laser sources via electro-optic intensity and phase modulation scheme

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In this study, we presented flat-topped coherent supercontinuum lasers with tunable repetition rates and programmable spectral bandwidths. Supercontinuum sources with ultra-broadband and high-repetition-rate coverage can be achieved by merging ...

Supercontinuum generation in silicon photonic wires

open access: yesOptics Express, 2007
We observe spectral broadening of more than 350 nm, i.e., a 3/10-octave span, upon propagation of ultrashort 1.3-mum-wavelength optical pulses in a 4.7-mm-long silicon-photonic-wire waveguide. We measure the wavelength dependence of the spectral features and relate it to waveguide dispersion and input power.

Coupling of Er3+ ions and Plasmonic Modes in Vertical Nanocavities for Spectral Broadening in Telecom Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Left: Illustration of the glass & nanostructures system and the NIR emission at 1.5 µm, where the colored spheres represent the Er3+ ions within the doped glass. Right: Representation of the Stark splitting of the 4I13/2 and 4I15/2 manifolds of the Er3+, illustrating how the plasmonic modes facilitate the emission from the broader Stark manifold ...
