Numerical Simulation of Supercritical-Water Flow in Concentric-Dual-Tubing Wells
SPE Journal, 2018Much work has been performed on the modeling of saturated/superheated-steam flow in wellbores. At present, the study on supercritical-water (SCW) flow in wellbores, especially concentric-dual-tubing wells (CDTWs), is very limited.

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2018
Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the turbulent heat transfer characteristics of supercritical CO2 in heated vertical helically coiled tube, and primary focus is to analyze the mechanism of buoyancy force and flow acceleration on the ...

Supercritical Flow Past Bodies
1990We are now going to study the problem of uniform flow past a body; this is the viscoelastic analogue of the exterior problem of aerodynamics. Two typical problems are uniform flow past a body or steady motion of a body in a fluid at rest. These two problems are equivalent because of Galilean invariance.

The Physics of Fluids, 2018
A numerical investigation of cooling of a fluid at supercritical pressure has been performed by means of direct numerical simulations. The simulations were conducted with a uniform heat flux imposed at the wall at an inlet bulk Reynolds number of 5400 ...

Supercritical Flow in Bend Manhole
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 2000Supercritical flow in a bend manhole for combined sewer systems is considered for a typical relative curvature and deflection angles of 45° and 90°. The typical features of bend flow in a U-shaped channel are determined, including the surface profiles along the inner and the outer bend walls, impact flow at the manhole outlet into the downstream sewer ...

Sediment Transport in Supercritical Flow
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1965A study is made of the transition between flow of a solids-fluid mixture in the fully suspended regime and flow with a sediment bed. It is shown that the critical deposit condition is a function of solids concentration, Reynolds number, Froude number, and geometry of flow. A dimensional analysis is tested by experimental data.

Supercritical Flow in Channel Junctions
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 1989Using both a theoretical and an experimental approach, the main flow features in junctions with thoroughly supercritical flows are considered. The junctions are characterized by rectangular channels of equal branch width and sharpedged corners. Junction angles of 22.5° and 45° are considered.

Supercritical Flow in Chute Contraction
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 1998Contractions with supercritical flow generate shockwaves requiring significantly larger wall heights than predicted by one-dimensional flow equations. Three distinct waves in a straight-walled contraction may be identified: wave 1 downstream from the contraction point, wave 2 in the chute axis, and wall wave 3 beyond the contraction end.

Continuous flow homogeneous catalysis using supercritical fluids
Chemical Communications, 2004The continuous flow hydroformylation of 1-octene catalysed by Rh/[RMIM][Ph(2)PC(6)H(4)SO(3)](R = 1-propyl, 1-pentyl or 1-octyl) dissolved only in the steady state reaction mixture and using scCO(2) as a transport vector for both substrates and products gives rates up to 160-240 catalyst turnovers h(-1) with low rhodium leaching over a 12 h period at a ...
