Three dimensional canonical singularity and five dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFT
We conjecture that every three dimensional canonical singularity defines a five dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 SCFT. Flavor symmetry can be found from singularity structure: non-abelian flavor symmetry is read from the singularity type over one ...

Supergravity divergences, supersymmetry and automorphic forms [PDF]
A bstractWe investigate the occurrence of divergences in maximal supergravity in various dimensions from the point of view of supersymmetry constraints on the U-duality invariant threshold functions defining the higher derivative couplings in the ...

Duality and supersymmetry breaking in string theory [PDF]
Abstract Target-space duality is incorporated in previously proposed effective actions describing non-perturbative supersymmetry breaking in string theory via gaugino condensation. Duality-preserving vacua with broken supersymmetry and fixed unified coupling constant do generically occur.

Duality and couplings of 3-form-multiplets in N = 1 supersymmetry [PDF]
A bstractIn this paper we study 3-form gauge fields in four-dimensional N = 1 super-symmetric theories. We give the sigma model action together with its Poincaré dual action for massless and massive 3-forms.

Holomorphic field theories and higher algebra
Abstract Aimed at complex geometers and representation theorists, this survey explores higher dimensional analogs of the rich interplay between Riemann surfaces, Virasoro and Kac‐Moody Lie algebras, and conformal blocks. We introduce a panoply of examples from physics — field theories that are holomorphic in nature, such as holomorphic Chern‐Simons ...

Dark Dimension With (Little) Strings Attached
Abstract A relation between dark energy and the scale of new physics in weakly coupled string theory is motivated. This mixing between infrared and ultraviolet physics leads to a unique corner for real‐world phenomenology: barring fine‐tunings, the authors are naturally led to the “dark dimension” scenario, a single mesoscopic extra dimension of micron

JT gravity from non-Abelian T-duality
We study the geometries obtained by performing super non-Abelian T-duality of the Principal Chiral Model on OSp(1|2). While the initial model represents an appropriate 3D supergravity background, interpretable as the superspace version of AdS3, the T ...

Exploring the geometry of supersymmetric double field theory
The geometry of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supersymmetric double field theory is revisited in superspace. In order to maintain the constraints on the torsion tensor, the local tangent space group of O(D) × O(D) must be expanded to include a tower of higher ...

Foundations of Ghost Stability
Abstract The authors present a new method to analytically prove global stability in ghost‐ridden dynamical systems. The proposal encompasses all prior results and consequentially extends them. In particular, it is shown that stability can follow from a conserved quantity that is unbounded from below, contrary to expectation.

Transcendentality violation in type IIB string amplitudes
We analyze transcendentality for certain terms that arise in multiloop amplitudes in the low momentum expansion of the four graviton amplitude in type IIB string theory in ten dimensions, based on the constraints of supersymmetry and S-duality.
