Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Nutrient Support in Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation
Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, 2001High‐dose cytoreduction and hematopoietic stem cell infusion form the basis for treatment of hematologic cancers, defects or failure of hematopoiesis, and some solid tumors. As an antitumor therapy, allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is superior to autologous HCT by induction of a graft‐us‐tumor effect.

Cell Sources for Bioartificial Liver Support
The International Journal of Artificial Organs, 1996The present review discusses hepatocyte sources for a bioartificial liver. Intended requirements for cell sources are for example: synthesis of plasma proteins, detoxification and regulation. The need for highly differentiated hepatocytes is stressed. Furthermore, the gap between this objective on the one hand and the real possibilities as they appear ...

A decision support system for cell formation
International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, 2003This paper presents a decision support system to form manufacturing cells. The system consists of four modules: (1) User Interface Module, (2) Cell Formation Module, (3) Performance Evaluation Module, and (4) Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis Module. By considering the cell design problem as a multi-criteria decision analysis problem, this menu-driven ...

The supporting cells are found between the sensory epithelial layer and the basement membrane and they vary in their shape. On the cell surface, there are many microvilli and a single centriole. Sometimes a global substance protrudes on this surface (Harada, 1971, 1973).

Liver Regeneration Supported by Muse Cells
2018Cellular compensation from extrahepatic resources is expected to improve the prognosis of liver diseases. Currently, liver dysfunction is treated by a variety of modalities including drugs, cytokines, vascular interventions, energy devices, surgery, and liver transplantation; however, in recent years there have been few significant advancements in ...

Cell membrane patches are supported by proteoglycans
The Journal of Membrane Biology, 1995A cell membrane patch isolated on a patch clamp pipette incorporates in addition to the phospholipid bilayer, an extracellular matrix and cytoskeletal components. The significance of the extracellular matrix for the patch formation was studied in aortic smooth muscle and cerebellar granule cells grow in the presence of an inhibitor of proteoglycan ...
