A consideration on decay process of an accumulated charge of polymer surfaces

Electrical Engineering in Japan, 1982
Experiments using a material with single chemical structure, polyethylene (PE), were performed to study the decay process of charge on a polymer surface accumulated by corona discharge. The motion of charge accumulated on a PE surface within a short time period was studied. Experimental results are discussed in relation to theoretical calculations.

Insulator surface charge accumulation under DC voltage

Conference Record of the the 2002 IEEE International Symposium on Electrical Insulation (Cat. No.02CH37316), 2003
The phenomena of surface charging are investigated using the capacitive probe method. In order to decrease the charge leakage a new type probe with high resolution is designed. The influence of voltage amplitude, duration, polarity and surrounding humidity on the surface charging are studied.

Depletion of surface accumulation charge in InN by anodic oxidation

Journal of Applied Physics, 2009
Si-doped InN layer by molecular beam epitaxy was subjected to anodic oxidation in 0.1 M potassium hydroxide (KOH) electrolyte and characterized by electrochemical methods to derive carrier profile at the InN surface. The obtained results were compared to the characteristics of a planar resistor structure and vertical metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS ...

Single filament partial discharge: Surface charge accumulation

2013 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena, 2013
In our experiments the single DC discharges propagate in the “needle - air gap - dielectric barrier - plane” system under atmospheric pressure. Polypropylene (12 μm) and polyethylene terephthalate (100 μm) films were used as barriers. Interelectrode air gap varied in the range of 100-2000 μm, breakdown voltages - in the range of 1200-3800 V.

What is Mechanism of Space Charge Accumulation in Polyethylene with Surface Fluorination?

2021 International Conference on Electrical Materials and Power Equipment (ICEMPE), 2021
Several researches has proved that surface fluorination of polyethylene has a significant barrier effect of space charge, so whether the surface fluorination treatment of poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) loaded with carbon black particles electrode has the same effect?

Increasing surface charge density by effective charge accumulation layer inclusion for high-performance triboelectric nanogenerators

MRS Communications, 2019
Powering autonomous electronic devices is a key challenge toward the development of smart sensor networks. In this work, a state-of-the-art triboelectric nanogenerator is devised to enhance the output performance with an effective surface charge density ...

Photoemission spectroscopy study of the charge accumulation at the K3Sb:Cs surface

Applied Surface Science, 2001
Abstract The alkali antimonide compounds are widely applied in light detection devices. The strong optical absorption and the low electron affinity make the photon–electron conversion very efficient in these materials. In this paper, we present the results of a photoemission spectroscopy study of K 3 Sb films of 100 A with and without an extra layer ...

Surface Charge Accumulation on PTFE under Magnetic Field

2007 IEEE International Conference on Solid Dielectrics, 2007
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was employed to investigate the effect of magnetic field on surface charge accumulation. The magnetic field (B) was set to make E×B drift into, away from and parallel to sample surface. An electrostatic probe was designed to measure the surface charge density.

Computational study of charge accumulation at SnO2(110) surface

Surface Science, 2005
Abstract Features of SnO2(1 1 0) surfaces with a surplus electron are considered computationally by applying density functional method. The additional charge is found to influence on surface energetics and surface relaxations considerably with respect to the corresponding surfaces without additional charge.
