Passivation of Edge States in Etched InAs Sidewalls
We investigate different methods of passivating sidewalls of wet etched InAs heterostructures in order to suppress inherent edge conduction that is presumed to occur due to band bending at the surface leading to charge carrier accumulation.

DC-electric-field-induced and low-frequency electromodulation second-harmonic generation spectroscopy of Si(001)-SiO$_2$ interfaces [PDF]
The mechanism of DC-Electric-Field-Induced Second-Harmonic (EFISH) generation at weakly nonlinear buried Si(001)-SiO$_2$ interfaces is studied experimentally in planar Si(001)-SiO$_2$-Cr MOS structures by optical second-harmonic generation (SHG ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Electric Currents at Semiconductor Surfaces from the Perspective of Drift-Diffusion Equations
Surface sensitive electric current measurements are important experimental tools poorly corroborated by theoretical models. We show that the drift-diffusion equations offer a framework for a consistent description of such experiments. The current flow is

Diameter-dependent conductance of InAs nanowires [PDF]
Electrical conductance through InAs nanowires is relevant for electronic applications as well as for fundamental quantum experiments. Here we employ nominally undoped, slightly tapered InAs nanowires to study the diameter dependence of their conductance.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Gas–solid interface charge characterisation techniques for HVDC GIS/GIL insulators
Surface charge accumulation on the spacers is one of the key issues restraining the development of HVDC GIS/GIL. The precise measurement of surface charge properties provides the basis for further study of the surface charge transport mechanism as well ...

SOI-FET Sensors with Dielectrophoretic Concentration of Viruses and Proteins
Quick label-free virus screening and highly sensitive analytical tools/techniques are becoming extremely important in a pandemic. In this study, we developed a biosensing device based on the silicon nanoribbon multichannel and dielectrophoretic ...
