Usinagem de materiais endurecidos.

open access: yesRevista Tecnologia, 2009
Turning has merged as a visible alternative to finish machining of hardened steels. It is known the surface finish and residual stresses can affect the resistance of components to failure when subjected to high cycle fatigue loads. This paper presents an

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Surface Roughness Prediction in Grinding: a Probabilistic Approach

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Surface quality of machined components is one of the most important criteria for the assessment of grinding processes. The importance of surface finish of a product depends upon its functional requirements.

A Study on Modelling Surface Finish in Electrical Discharge Machining Tablet Shape Punches Using Response Surface Methodology

open access: yes, 2017
This paper introduces a study on modelling surface finish in EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) of tablet shape punches when using copper as electrode material. In this study, 27 experiments were performed based on BBD (Box-Behnken Design) and the work-

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Effect of in situ treatment on the quality of flat thermoplastic composite plates made by automated fiber placement (AFP)

open access: yesAdvanced Manufacturing: Polymer & Composites Science, 2018
Composite structures used as aerosurfaces in aerodynamic applications are required to have a certain surface finish quality. In manufacturing of thermoplastic composites using automated fiber placement (AFP) for aerodynamic applications, it is not only ...
