Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Automorphisms of an irregular surface of general type acting trivially in cohomology
Let S be a complex nonsingular minimal projective surface of general type with q(S)⩾3, and let G⊂AutS be the subgroup of automorphisms acting trivially on H2(S,Q).

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Nodal curves on surfaces of general type
We study the family of irreducible curves with $δ$ nodes belonging to a free linear system $|C|$ with smooth general member on a surface $S$ such that $|K_S|$ is ample. Under the assumption that $C$ is numerically equivalent to $pK_S$, $p\ge 3$ rational, we give an upper bound on $δ$ ensuring that the family is smooth of codimension $δ$ in $|C|$ (plus ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Finding common ground: towards a surface realisation shared task [PDF]
In many areas of NLP reuse of utility tools such as parsers and POS taggers is now common, but this is still rare in NLG. The subfield of surface realisation has perhaps come closest, but at present we still lack a basis on which different surface ...

Tricanonical system of a surface of general type in positive characteristic
Using vector bundle method, we study the tricanonical system on a minimal surface of general type defined over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. Under some conditions, it is proved that it has no fixed component.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Effects of metformin on human monocytic THP-1 cells - Implications for type 2 diabetes mellitus
Metformin is an anti-hyperglycaemic agent widely prescribed for type 2 diabetes (T2D). Despite decades of clinical use, its exact pharmacological mechanism(s) is yet to be definitively determined.
