Implementation of data-cube pump–probe KPFM on organic solar cells

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2020
An implementation of pump–probe Kelvin probe force microscopy (pp-KPFM) is reported that enables recording the time-resolved surface potential in single-point mode or over a 2D grid. The spectroscopic data are acquired in open z-loop configuration, which

Photovoltaic effect in ferroelectric ceramics [PDF]

open access: yes
The ceramic structure was simulated in a form that is more tractable to correlation between experiment and theory. Single crystals (of barium titanate) were fabricated in a simple corrugated structure in which the pedestals of the corrugation simulated ...

From Design to Prototype: High‐Sensitivity Tri‐Mode Operation Photodetectors Based on 1T‐2H Hybrid MoS2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a phase‐engineered MoS2 photodetector that dynamically switches among photocapacitive (PCC), photovoltaic (PV), and photoconductive (PC) modes. By transforming the traditionally parasitic capacitance into an active signal source, the device achieves self‐powered, high‐sensitivity detection with a fast response of 19.2 ms, and a ...

Abrupt p-n junction using ionic gating at zero-bias in bilayer graphene

open access: yes, 2017
Graphene is a promising candidate for optoelectronic applications. In this report, a double gated bilayer graphene FET has been made using a combination of electrostatic and electrolytic gating in order to form an abrupt p-n junction. The presence of two

Sustainable KCl‐Assisted PbI2 Recycling for High‐Performance Quantum Dot Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An additive‐assisted lead recycling strategy is developed by introducing trace KCl during PbI2 recrystallization from spent lead‐acid batteries. KCl regulates crystallization and impurity removal, yielding high‐purity PbI2 and enabling the formation of colloidally stable PbS and CsPbI3 quantum dots.

Non-equipotential effect observed on the surface of Ti/Si under uniform illumination

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
In this letter, a non-equipotential surface photovoltaic effect is reported in nano metal–semiconductor structures. When the surface of the Ti/Si is uniformly illuminated by a beam of light, a controllable surface photovoltaic effect is observed on the ...

Electrical detection of hyperbolic phonon-polaritons in heterostructures of graphene and boron nitride

open access: yes, 2017
Light properties in the mid-infrared can be controlled at a deep subwavelength scale using hyperbolic phonons-polaritons (HPPs) of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN).

Dirac Surface‐State Driven Broad Spectral Band Low Quantum Energy Photoresponse in Quaternary Topological BiSbSe2Te

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Quaternary topological BiSbSe2Te are synthesized and demonstrates a broad spectral band photoresponse, ranging from infrared to terahertz and to millimeter waves, with a particular excellence on detection of low quantum energy terahertz photons. The observed photoresponse is attributed to the excitation of plasmonic nonequilibrium electrons originating
