Recurrent ocular surface squamous neoplasia treated with orbital exenteration
Ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) consists of an array of dysplastic, pre-invasive and malignant squamous lesions that impair the ocular surface. We report a case of a 61-year-old female with recurrent OSSN and had chronic hepatitis B.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Field efficacy of pyrethroid treated plastic sheeting (durable lining) in combination with long lasting insecticidal nets against malaria vectors. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Insecticide treated plastic sheeting (ITPS), sometimes known as durable lining, has potential as a long-lasting insecticidal surface for malaria vector control when used as lining for interior walls and ceilings inside the home.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Hsp72 translocation and secretion in in vivo and in vitro models [PDF]
Evidence suggesting that Hsp72 is actively participating in cellular signalling as well interacting with immune system dynamics has been increasing. This is true in healthy, stressed and diseased cells but to different degrees.

Friction behavior of laser cladding magnesium alloy against AISI 52100 steel [PDF]
The use of magnesium alloys in engineering applications is becoming increasingly important as a relatively low density allows savings in energy consumption and therefore reduction in air pollution.

Surface Wettability and Coating Performance of Plasma-Treated Wood-Based Composite Panels
The effect of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma treatment was studied on the surface characteristics and coating performance of transparent epoxy resin on the surface of particleboard (PB) and medium-density fiberboard (MDF). The plasma treatment

Changes in Surface Properties of Heat-Treated Phyllostachys pubescens Bamboo
The wetting phenomena and surface energetic behavior in heat-treated bamboo were studied. The bamboo specimens were heat-treated at temperatures of 100, 140, and 180 °C for 4 h, and an untreated sample served as a control.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
