Bio‐Inspired Micro‐Fin‐Assisted Multi‐Modal Vascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A magnetic guidewire with a micro‐fin–integrated tip is introduced for multimodal cardiovascular navigation. The micro‐fins exploit fluid drag to augment magnetic torque, enabling bifurcation traversal at 15 mT, tolerating 45° misalignment, bidirectional crawling, and buckle self‐correction.

A new bipolar blood sealing system embedded in perioperative strategies vs. a conventional regimen for total knee arthroplasty: results of a matched-pair study

open access: yesGMS German Medical Science, 2005
From a prospective matched-pair study in 40 patients it can be concluded that the use of a new bipolar sealer system for electrocoagulation is effective in Total Knee Arthroplasty in reducing the visible total blood loss until drain removal on day two ...

Endothelial Cell‐Specific Molecule‐1 (ESM1): An Endogenous Anticoagulant and Protective Factor in Venous Thrombosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies ESM1 as an endogenous anticoagulant that modulates venous thrombosis. It shows that ESM1 deficiency triggers vascular occlusion in zebrafish and mice, whereas its restoration or overexpression prolongs clot‐formation time. Mechanistic analyses reveal that ESM1 activates HCII through its dermatan‐sulfate chain, uncovering a ...

Acido tranexâmico e hemostasia em cirurgia de revascularização do miocárdio com circulação extracorpórea Tranexamic acid and hemostasis in myocardial revascularization with extracorporeal circulation

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 1992
O antífibrinolítico sintético ácido tranexâmico (Transamin ®) foi avaliado em seus efeitos hemostáticos e poupadores de transfusões homólogas, em pacientes submetidos a revascularização do miocárdio com circulação extracorpórea (CEC).
