Not All Cams Are Equal: MRI‐Based Statistical Shape Modeling Reveals High Variability in Cam Shape in a Large FAI Cohort

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Evidence indicates that alpha angle (AA) is inadequate for describing cam morphology, contributing to poor patient selection and clinical outcomes for cam‐type femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAI). While techniques such as statistical shape modeling (SSM) have advanced knowledge of 3D femoral morphology, many studies utilize computed ...

Antioxidant Responses to Dietary Supplementation With Non‐Enriched and Selenium‐Enriched Mushrooms and Selenized Yeast in Piglets

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
The findings highlight tissue‐specific responses to dietary selenium supplementation, with hepatic antioxidant modulation occurring without changes in plasma parameters, while selenium deposition patterns differed among tissues, emphasizing the complex relationship between selenium sources, metabolism, and antioxidant defense.

Understanding Interactions Between Sustainable Development Goals Within and Between Policy Programmes: The Case of Kenya's Dairy Sector

open access: yesSustainable Development, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 8180-8194, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Achieving Agenda 2030 depends on addressing interactions between the sustainable development goals (SDGs). In this paper, we conceptualize SDG interactions as synergies or trade‐offs, incoming or outgoing, and internal or external, and analyze how SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) interacts with other SDGs within and across policy programmes that support ...

Synthesis, Characterization, and Multimodal DNA Interaction of Novel Mn(II), Fe(III), and Co(II) Acylhydrazone Complexes

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 37, 6 October 2026.
A novel acylhydrazone Schiff base ligand and its Mn(II), Fe(III), and Co(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized. DNA and BSA studies show groove‐binding, non‐covalent interactions. Molecular docking and favorable lipophilicity indicate potential applications in nucleic acid recognition and biological systems.

Baffin Bay Freshwater Content Seasonal Variability and Budget: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Baffin Bay plays a significant role as an exporter of freshwater from the Arctic to the North Atlantic. However, we still do not completely understand how this freshwater is stored and transformed within the bay before it exits. Here, we use a six‐member ensemble built using the Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean (NEMO)—at 1/4 ...

‘More Beastliness Than Beauty’: Gendering Pica in Seventeenth‐Century English Medicine and Culture

open access: yesGender &History, Volume 38, Issue 3, Page 752-764, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Today, defined as the ‘persistent eating of non‐nutritive substances’, pica is a lesser‐known eating disorder with a long history. Defined in early modern England as the ‘desire to eat absurd things’, pica was explicitly gendered, associated with pregnant women and pubescent girls.
