Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Study on Failure Characteristics and Rock Burst Mechanism of Roadway Roof under Cyclic Dynamic Load

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Rock burst is a catastrophic phenomenon that often occurs in underground rock mass engineering. In order to reveal the essence of rock burst of a hard roof in the process of roadway excavation, the particle discrete element method is used to establish a ...

Mechanotransduction of Magnetically Applied Forces Leads to Mechanical Stiffening of Platelet‐Rich Plugs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A microfluidic device with magnetic microposts was used to assess platelet mechanobiology. The oscillatory actuation of posts with embedded iron particles was dampened by the dynamic stiffening of the platelet‐rich plugs. This stiffening process increased with applied load, but inhibiting platelet activation (ASA) or myosin contractility (blebbistatin)

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

The effect of burnt rock on inclined shaft in shallow coal seam and its control technology

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2019
Burnt rock is a geo‐material widely existed in many countries. After the rock mass is burned, the fracture is developed, the structure is destroyed, the integrity and strength are reduced, and a good water storage space is formed in suitable hydration ...

Research and application of pre-stressed continuous surrounding rock control technology

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2021
Pre-stressed continuous surrounding rock control technology was proposed to solve the problem of serious deformation and destruction of the return air lane of No. 5 working face of Ⅱ2-1 coal in Lingdong Mine. First of all, the mechanical model of the anchor bolt pre-stress transfer in the surrounding rock was established through theoretical analysis ...
