The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

EVALUATION OF ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF ANAEROBIC DIGESTATE AND ITS EFFECT ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF MAIZE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Pakistan is an agricultural country. The increased population leads to increasing demand for food. Unfortunately, crops are infected by different microbes and nutrient deficiency of soil adversely affects the yield of the crop ...

Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...

Sustainable control of Anopheles mosquito population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Despite the widespread use of insecticides, community engagement programmes and preventive measures mosquito borne diseases are growing and new tools to prevent the spread of disease are urgently needed. An alternative control measure for the eradication

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

USE OF CHEMICAL CONTROL IN AGRICULTURE

open access: yesColloquium Agrariae, 2022
Agriculture is important in the food production sector, and in order to meet all the population's demand for food, the agricultural sector has modernized, using means that make it possible to increase crop productivity, and to avoid increasing food ...

Utilization of waste as a constituent ingredient for enhancing thermal performance of bricks – a review paper [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In view of the environmental regulations, practitioners have been inclined to use bricks with higher insulation capability, however with minimal attention to sustainable material composition, let alone waste material.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Environmental Costs Account: a base for measuring sustainability in transport plans. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Each city need to develop sustainable transport plans according to its fu-ture developments. This means identifying the best policy package of transport measures that could produce more sustainable future scenarios: lowest environmental impact, but also ...
