Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...

An emotional model for swarm robotics
Swarm robotics is a system of multiple robots where a desired collective behavior emerges from the interactions between the robots and with the environment. This paper proposes an emotional model for the robots, to allow emerging behaviors. The emotional

An Overview of Swarm Robotics: Swarm Intelligence Applied to Multi-robotics
As an emergent research area by which swarm intelligence is applied to multi-robot systems; swarm robotics (a very particular and peculiar sub-area of collective robotics) studies how to coordinate large groups of relatively simple robots through the use of local rules.

Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization for Swarm Robotics
AbstractIn the original particle swarm optimization algorithm, particles’ update is done synchronously. The whole swarm fitness is evaluated first before particle update process is conducted. Whereas in asynchronous update a particle is able to update its velocity and position after its fitness is evaluated.
