Trophallaxis among swarm-robots: A biologically inspired strategy for swarm robotics
The First IEEE/RAS-EMBS International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics, 2006. BioRob 2006., 2006This article presents a bio-inspired communication strategy for large-scale robot swarms. The strategy is based on robot-to-robot interactions without any central communication unit. Thus, the emerging swarm regulates itself in a purely self-organized way.

Anti-Swarming from the Swarm Robotics Perspective
2022This study represents the first known attempt to formulate a template for a complete anti-swarming strategy that can be employed against adversary robotic swarms. This research is important as swarm robotics technology will be widely available in the near future and it would be naïve to assume that this highly capable technology exclusively will be ...

From Swarm Intelligence to Swarm Robotics
2005The term “swarm” has been applied to many systems (in biology, engineering, computation, etc.) as they have some of the qualities that the English-language term “swarm” denotes. With the growth of the various area of “swarm” research, the “swarm” terminology has become somewhat confusing.

SWARM-BOT: an experiment in swarm robotics
Proceedings 2005 IEEE Swarm Intelligence Symposium, 2005. SIS 2005., 2005This paper provides an overview of the SWARM-BOTS project, a robotics project sponsored by the Future and Emerging Technologies program of the European Commission (IST-2000-31010). We describe the s-bot, a small autonomous robot with self-assembling capabilities that we designed and built within the project.
