Particle Swarm Optimization in Swarm Robotics
2020 International Congress on Human-Computer Interaction, Optimization and Robotic Applications (HORA), 2020In this study, Swarm robots, collective task behaviors, and communication models for motion integrity are examined. Collective Motion, which is one of the taxonomies of Swarm robots, has been defined to be suitable for Swarm robotics, one of the optimization methods based on genetic algorithm, to ensure its behavior.

When lots of robots come together to form shapes, spread in an area, or move in one direction, their motion has to be planned carefully. We discuss how mathematicians devise strategies to help swarms of robots behave like an experienced, coordinated team.

Swarm robotics is a relatively new research area inspired from biological systems such as ant or bee colonies. It composes a system consisting of many small robots with simple control mechanisms capable of achieving complex collective behaviors on the swarm level such as aggregation, pattern formation and collective transportation to name a few.
