The Origin and Evolution of Emerged Swine Acute Diarrhea Syndrome Coronavirus With Zoonotic Potential

Journal of Medical Virology, 2023
AbstractSwine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS‐CoV) is a newly discovered alphacoronavirus with zoonotic potential that causes diarrhea and vomiting mainly in piglets. Having emerged suddenly in 2017, the prevailing opinion is that the virus originated from HKU2, an alphacoronavirus whose primary host is bats, and at some unknown point ...

TMPRSS13 Promotes the Cell Entry of Swine Acute Diarrhea Syndrome Coronavirus

Journal of Medical Virology
Abstract Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS‐CoV) has caused severe intestinal diseases in pigs. It originates from bat coronaviruses HKU2 and has a potential risk of cross‐species transmission, raising concerns about its zoonotic potential.

TET2 is required for Type I IFN‐mediated inhibition of bat‐origin swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus

Journal of Medical Virology, 2022
AbstractSwine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS‐CoV) is a newly discovered bat‐origin coronavirus with fatal pathogenicity for neonatal piglets. There is no vaccine to prevent SADS‐CoV infection or clinically approved drugs targeting SADS‐CoV.

Identification of two novel B-cell epitopes located on the spike protein of swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) is an emerging alpha-coronavirus that causes diarrhea in piglets and results in serious economic losses. During SADS-CoV infection, the spike protein (S) serves as a crucial structural component of the virion, interacting with receptors and eliciting the production of neutralizing antibodies.

A multiplex real-time RT-qPCR assay for simultaneous detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, porcine deltacoronavirus, and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus

Archives of Virology
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) cause intestinal diseases with similar manifestations in suckling piglets. In this study, we developed a multiplex real-time PCR for differential diagnosis of PEDV, PDCoV, and SADS-CoV.
