Concurrent Detection of Swine-Origin Influenza A(H1N1) Virus in Pigs and Farmer, Switzerland

We report zoonotic transmission of Eurasian avian-like swine influenza A(H1N1) virus from pigs to a farmer. The pigs and farmer experienced influenza-like illness. Whole-genome sequencing revealed >99.9% viral sequence identity between hosts.
