Switched Observers for Switched Linear Systems With Unknown Inputs
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2011Two state observers are designed for some classes of switched linear systems with unknown inputs. The design of the proposed observers assumes that all switching subsystems fulfill a property of “strong detectability” that allows to implement suitable reduced-order unknown-input switched observers.

Stability of reset switching systems
2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003In the design of switching control systems, the analysis of transient signals is of utmost importance. Each time a control transfer takes place, the resulting transient response may degrade performance. When switching takes place rapidly, interaction between switching transients may cause instability even when each of the ‘component’ loops are stable ...

Asynchronous Switched Systems: ADT Switching
2016This chapter first investigates the stability and \(l_2\)-gain analysis problems for a class of discrete-time switched systems with average dwell time (ADT) switching by allowing the Lyapunov-like functions to increase during the running time of subsystems.

Robustly stabilizing switching signals for switched systems under restricted switching
2019 18th European Control Conference (ECC), 2019The topic of this paper is input/output-to-state stability (IOSS) of continuous-time switched nonlinear systems under switching signals that obey restrictions on switching destinations and switching times. Given a family of systems, a set of admissible switches, and admissible minimum and maximum dwell times on subsystems, we present an algorithm to ...

Abstract Bacteria of many species are frequently observed to exhibit profound phenotypic changes, typically affecting colonial appearance or behavior. Most often, such changes are evident in pathogenic bacteria, where genetic switches modulate expression of a variety of virulence determinants (1).
