Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Reliability Analysis of Switches and Crossings – A Case Study in Swedish Railway [PDF]
It is reported that switches and crossings (S&C) are one of the subsystems that cause the most delays on Swedish Railways while accounting for at least 13% of maintenance costs.

Tree LANS with collision avoidance : protocol, switch architecture, and performance [PDF]
Packet collisions and their resolution create a performance bottleneck in random access LANs. A hardware solution to this problem is to use collision avoidance switches.

Two Modes of Magnetization Switching in a Simulated Iron Nanopillar in an Obliquely Oriented Field
Finite-temperature micromagnetics simulations are employed to study the magnetization-switching dynamics driven by a field applied at an angle to the long axis of an iron nanopillar.

Network Coding for Speedup in Switches [PDF]
We present a graph theoretic upper bound on speedup needed to achieve 100% throughput in a multicast switch using network coding. By bounding speedup, we show the equivalence between network coding and speedup in multicast switches - i.e. network coding,

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Highest Rank First: A New Class of Single-Iteration Scheduling Algorithms for Input-Queued Switches
In this paper, we study a new class of single-iteration scheduling algorithms for inputqueued switches based on a new arbitration idea called highest rank first (HRF).

Micro-Switches with Sputtered Au, AuPd, Au-on-AuPt, and AuPtCu Alloy Electric Contacts [PDF]
This work is the first to report on a new analytic model for predicting micro-contact resistance and the design, fabrication, and testing of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) metal contact switches with sputtered bi-metallic (i.e.

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
