Common mode voltage elimination in dual-inverter-fed six-phase open-end winding PMSM drives with a single DC supply

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper proposes a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique to eliminate common mode voltage (CMV) and common mode current for dual-inverter six-phase open-end winding PMSM motor drive fed from a single DC supply.

Generic spice compatible model of current feedback in switch mode convertors

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1992
The mechanism of duty cycle generation in current mode (CM) and average current mode (ACM) PWM convertors is examined and found to be identical except for the functional relationship of the controlling parameters. This result is used to develop a SPICE compatible and topology independent generic current mode (GCM) model.

Multichannel operation of an integrated acousto-optic wavelength routing switch for WDM systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Polarization independent acousto-optic tunable filters (PIAOTF's) can operate as transparent wavelength-selective crossconnects to route signals in wavelength division multiplexed optical networks.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Detailed quantitative comparison of half-bridge modular multilevel converter modelling methods

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper presents a detailed comparison of different modelling methods of the half-bridge modular multilevel converter (HB-MMC), namely, switching function, Thevenin equivalent, and averaged, considering both MMC implementations (large and reduced ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

900 V GaN-based sine-wave inverters for three-phase industrial applications

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
GaN devices are gradually getting attention within the industry along with SiC as a potential wide bandgap device. At present, there are almost no high-voltage GaN devices with voltage >650 V, which makes an inverter design difficult for a three-phase ...

SPICE simulation of quasi-resonant zero-current-switching DC-DC convertors

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1990
A simple, topology-independent method is proposed for simulating the responses of open and closed-loop quasiresonant DC-DC convertors operating in the zero-current-switching mode (ZCS-QRC). The method hinges on the substitution of the resonant network and switch assembly, fundamental in the realisation of such systems, by an equivalent circuit which ...
