Symbol Synchronization for Diffusion-Based Molecular Communications

open access: yes, 2017
Symbol synchronization refers to the estimation of the start of a symbol interval and is needed for reliable detection. In this paper, we develop several symbol synchronization schemes for molecular communication (MC) systems where we consider some ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Hierarchical graph neural network with subgraph perturbations for key gene cluster discovery in cancer staging

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2023
Analyzing highly individual-specific genomic data to understand genetic interactions in cancer development is still challenging, with significant implications for the discovery of individual biomarkers as well as personalized medicine.

ACPNet: A Deep Learning Network to Identify Anticancer Peptides by Hybrid Sequence Information

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Cancer is one of the most dangerous threats to human health. One of the issues is drug resistance action, which leads to side effects after drug treatment. Numerous therapies have endeavored to relieve the drug resistance action.

The classical limit of the time dependent Hartree-Fock equation. I. The Weyl symbol of the solution

open access: yes, 2011
We study the time evolution of the Weyl symbol of a solution of the time dependent Hartree Fock equation, assuming that for t=0, it has a Weyl symbol which is integrable in the phase space, such as all its derivatives.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Prior-guided attention fusion transformer for multi-lesion segmentation of diabetic retinopathy

open access: yesScientific Reports
To solve the issue of diagnosis accuracy of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and reduce the workload of ophthalmologists, in this paper we propose a prior-guided attention fusion Transformer for multi-lesion segmentation of DR.

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

n-Valued Refined Neutrosophic Logic and Its Applications to Physics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we present a short history of logics: from particular cases of 2-symbol or numerical valued logic to the general case of n-symbol or numerical valued logic.
