Placing Value in Domestic Interiors

open access: yesBMGN: Low Countries Historical Review
This article explores the interplay between place and value in the display of art in domestic spaces in seventeenth-century Amsterdam, using the painting collection of Pieter de Graeff (1638-1707) and Jacoba Bicker (1640-1695) as a case study.

Calcineurin‐Dependent Stress Adaptation Enables Caspofungin Heteroresistance Leading to Stable Resistance in Candida Glabrata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Caspofungin heteroresistance is prevalent in clinical Candida glabrata isolates and depends on calcineurin‐mediated stress adaptation. This transient phenotype serves as a reservoir for resistance evolution, enabling the emergence of stable resistant descendants under prolonged drug pressure.

Time Resolved DNA Barcodes for Information Encoding and Dynamic Encryption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a molecular information platform based on DNA Temporal Barcodes. Information is encoded through combinations of DNA tags with distinct retention times, while dynamic encryption is achieved through a key‐triggered DNA ligation.

Extended Anionic Network in Mixed‐Valent Nitridocobaltates(I/II) LnCo2N2 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the high‐pressure synthesis of LnCo2N2 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd) with Co in mixed valent states of +I/+II. The compounds demonstrate the stabilization of a nitridocobaltate with extended anionic Co–N layers where Co is threefold coordinated.

Cation Diffusion‐Mediated Displaced Reaction‐Transformation in Green Steelmaking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The removal of O lattice atoms by environmental H2 at the surface of Fe3O4 results in Fe enrichment, driving the inward diffusion of Fe cations into the bulk. Through hopping between unoccupied and initially occupied sites, cation diffusion triggers a spatially displaced reaction‐transformation and drives subsequent dynamic phase transformations and ...

Hamaker Constants of van der Waals Materials under Clean‐Interface Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clean‐interface adhesion in representative van der Waals materials is quantified by Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) with in situ cleaning and calibrated probes. Benchmark Hamaker constants for graphene, MoS2, and SiO2 are established, while humidity is shown to reversibly amplify adhesion, explaining much of the scatter in ...

Wearable Electro‐Thermal Haptic Stimulator Driven by a Self‐Powered Tactile Sensor for Realistic Stimulus Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a stimulus‐replicating system combining a tactile sensor with a wearable Peltier thermotactile module and concentric electrotactile electrode. Signals encoding pressure and temperature drive the stimulators to reproduce mechano‐thermal cues on the skin. AlN/PDMS encapsulation and SA/LA PSA ensure mechanical compliance and thermal efficiency.

Space‐Time Metasurface Antenna Enabled High‐Dimensional Electromagnetic Modulation for Intrinsic Physical Layer Security

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The concept of high‐dimensional EM modulation using the STMA for physical layer secure communication is illustrated in figure. The STMA consists of a series of programmable unit cells, with 1‐bit reconfigurable phase states (0/π). The STMA is excited by a monochromatic continuous wave (CW) at frequency fc and controlled by a field‐programmable gate ...

A Symbolic Reconstruction of Parity-Based Adress-Systems

open access: yes
This work introduces a symbolic, parity‑based address system for the Collatz iteration. Odd integers are assigned finite roles, and transitions between these roles generate integer‑coded address sequences derived from a generative principle called the Big Bang Formula (BBF).
