Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Dualities in One-Dimensional Quantum Lattice Models: Topological Sectors
It has been a long-standing open problem to construct a general framework for relating the spectra of dual theories to each other. Here, we solve this problem for the case of one-dimensional quantum lattice models with symmetry-twisted boundary ...

Toward Tunable Magnetic Dirac Semimetals: Mn Doping of Cd3As2
Dilute magnetic doping of topological semimetals offers a pathway to tune the topological phase via time reversal symmetry breaking. This is achieved by alloying the Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 with Mn via molecular beam epitaxy. Magnetotransport measurements provide preliminary evidence of changes to the electronic structure consistent with the emergence ...

Representations of discrete symmetry operators in quantum field theory
The object of the work reported in this thesis was to construct and study the explicit representations of discrete symmetry operators (D.S.O.'s) in quantum field theory.

Degree of symmetry: using human perception to guide symmetry operators
Symmetry is often treated as a binary property. In contrast, this study demonstrates that symmetry (specifically reflection), as perceived by human vision, can be represented as a measure that is continuous in value which this work terms the ‘Degree of ...

Non-Abelian R-symmetry and dielectric branes
We study the holographic realization of the SO(6) R R-symmetry of N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super Yang-Mills with unitary gauge group. Focusing on 1/2 BPS states in the [0, J, 0] representation of SO(6) R , it is known that depending on the scaling of J ...

Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.
