Bioactive Titania-Based Organic–Inorganic Hybrids Synthesized via Sol–Gel [PDF]
In the present work, the synthesis of organic–inorganic hybrid (OIH) materials for biomedical applications is described. Two types of OIH systems are prepared by means of a sol–gel process, both consisting of a titania matrix. The use of two different

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

"Good Design" : an analysis of the term as it applies to the interior design industry [PDF]
The purpose of this study is two-fold, to clarify the term "Good Design" by drawing a consensus using a modified Delphi technique in a survey of interior design professionals and secondly, to propose a synthesized analysis of the term to the industry by ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have not eased human anxiety about AI. If such anxiety diminishes human preference for AI-synthesized visual information, the preference should be reduced solely by the belief that the information is ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
