Titanium ester homoenolates: a structural and synthetic study

Organometallics, 1993
The synthesis and structural characterization of the novel monomeric titanium homoenolates [(Cl)2-(cp)Ti-CH2CH2COOEt] (2), and [(cp)2Ti-CH2CH2COOEt]+ZnI3-(3; cp = eta5-C5H5) are reported, along with a structural study on the well-known homoenolate [{(Cl)2-Ti-CH2CH2COOEt)2(mu-Cl)2] (1), which is dimeric both in solution and in the solid state.

Effects of impurities on surface discharges at synthetic ester/cellulose board

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 2019
An electrical discharge that occurs at an oil/pressboard interface or pressboard surface is called surface partial discharge. The surface discharge activity can cause irreversible damage to the insulation due to its thermal and chemical actions.

Hydrolytic stability of synthetic ester lubricants

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 2000
AbstractThis paper looks in detail at hydrolysis of esters. While this is not normally a problem, hydrolytic stability can be an important consideration, e.g., in air compressors. The paper looks first at the synthesis of esters, which is a reversible reaction of acid + alcohol ↔ ester + water, usually involving a catalyst.

Comparison of dielectric properties of olive oil, mineral oil, and other natural and synthetic ester liquids under AC and lightning impulse stresses

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 2018
This paper presents experimental results of a comparative study of the characteristics of streamers propagating in olive oil and breakdown voltage with mineral oil, rapeseed oil (natural ester) and tetra-ester and methyl oleate (synthetic ester liquids).

Analysis of the ester constituents of synthetic and semi‐synthetic oils

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1985
AbstractThe analysis of lubricating oils commonly practised in petroleum laboratories is important in following the evolution of products available on the market. Several analysis methods have been proposed, particularly by Van Rysselberge, 1 Amos2 and Coates.3 All these extremely useful methods make use of conventional separation and identification ...

Tribological behavior of mineral and synthetic ester base oil containing MoS2 nanoparticles

, 2019
0.2, 1.0, and 2.0 wt.% concentration of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanoparticles were dispersed in mineral and synthetic ester base oil. Their tribological behavior investigated using a tribometer with pin-on-disk and four-ball configuration under ...

Experimental Discharge Initiation Study for Paper and Pressboard Insulated Electrodes in Mineral Oil and Synthetic Ester Fluid

International Conference on Development and Learning, 2019
Ester insulating fluids have different properties compared to commonly used mineral oils and for application in power transformers adequate design rules are needed.

Synthetic Lubricants Based on Sebacic Complex Esters

World Tribology Congress III, Volume 1, 2005
The paper present the results carried out in order to produce synthetic ester oils with a complex structure on the basis of sebacic acid with beneficial tribological properties. Three series of unsymmetrical diesters have been synthesized by taking into account superior aliphatic alcohols such as 2-ethyl-hexanol, isodecanol and isotridecanol along with
