Natural ester and synthetic ester fluids, applications and maintenance
2017 10th Jordanian International Electrical and Electronics Engineering Conference (JIEEEC), 2017These days the use of ester-based transformer fluids as an alternative to mineral oil is on the increase. The environmental and fire benefits of these fluids are being realised by more and more users, which has led to esters being used in a wide range of transformers, even up to the 400kV transmission level.

Esters of ?-branched acids (synthetic oils)
Petroleum Chemistry U.S.S.R., 1976Abstract 1. 1. Esters of neopentylpolyols and α-branched monocarboxylic acids were synthesized and their physical and chemical and operational properties examined. 2. 2. Synthetic esters with an increased content of quaternary carbon atoms were characterized by an increased temperature of solidification and improved lubricating properties ...

Ester base stocks for synthetic lubricants
Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1996AbstractThis paper reports on work on the synthesis and characterisation of mixtures of aliphatic adipates with complex esters based on polyols, adipic acid, and monohydroxy alcohols, in order to formulate new synthetic base stocks. The viscosity and pour point values of these mixtures are higher than those of adipates.
