Biodegradability test for synthetic esters

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1987
AbstractVarious synthetic esters were tested for their biodegradability, using a test sequence that began with the creation of biomass using sucrose and municipal wastewater; biodegradation was measured using biochemical oxygen demand and chemical oxygen demand values.

The Hidden Vulnerabilities of Pentaerythritol Synthetic Ester Insulating Oil for Eco-Friendly Transformers: A Dive Into Molecular Behavior

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation
Ester-based insulating oils exhibit high flash points and biodegradability. Their inferior lightning impulse breakdown voltage (LIBDV), however, hinders the development of high-voltage, large-capacity, eco-friendly transformers.

Reclamation of Synthetic Ester Dielectric Liquids by Pressure and Gravity Percolation Methods

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation
The tremendous demand for electricity requires higher operating voltages, which in turn impose great stress on the transformer insulation system. Condition-based maintenance and liquid decontamination are activities for assessing the risks and extending ...

Anticoagulant Sulfuric Acid Esters of Synthetic Polyglucoses

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1956
Abstract The anticoagulant activity and toxicity of a series of sulfated synthetic polyglucoses were studied. The samples possessed 10-40 per cent the activity of heparin and were 2.5-10 times as toxic as heparin. The results obtained are similar to those reported for other sulfated polysaccharides.

Comparative Study of Mineral Oil, Synthetic Ester, and Natural Ester as Liquid Insulation in Transformers

2024 6th International Conference on Power Engineering and Renewable Energy (ICPERE)
Power transformers are critical components in electrical power systems that require effective insulation to prevent service interruptions. The insulation material, which typically consists of mineral oil and paper, is often subject to aging, which can ...

Comparison of breakdown voltage of vegetable olive with mineral oil, natural and synthetic ester liquids under DC voltage

IEEE transactions on dielectrics and electrical insulation, 2020
This paper deals with a comparative study of the negative and positive DC breakdown voltages of different insulating liquids namely two natural esters (an extra virgin olive oil (OO) without additive and rapeseed oil), two synthetic ester fluids (a ...

Synthetic Studies on Natural Diterpenoid Glyceryl Esters

Tetrahedron, 2000
Synthesis of natural bicyclic and tricyclic diterpenoid diacylglycerols has been performed by regioselective coupling of terpenoid acid with glycerol at 1'-sn position. This method may be considered a general approach to obtain optically active acylglycerols. The preparation of C-13-labelled geranylgeranoic acid glyceryl esters is also described here. (
