Synthetic Studies on Natural Diterpenoid Glyceryl Esters

Tetrahedron, 2000
Synthesis of natural bicyclic and tricyclic diterpenoid diacylglycerols has been performed by regioselective coupling of terpenoid acid with glycerol at 1'-sn position. This method may be considered a general approach to obtain optically active acylglycerols. The preparation of C-13-labelled geranylgeranoic acid glyceryl esters is also described here. (

Natural ester and synthetic ester fluids, applications and maintenance

2017 10th Jordanian International Electrical and Electronics Engineering Conference (JIEEEC), 2017
These days the use of ester-based transformer fluids as an alternative to mineral oil is on the increase. The environmental and fire benefits of these fluids are being realised by more and more users, which has led to esters being used in a wide range of transformers, even up to the 400kV transmission level.

Esters of ?-branched acids (synthetic oils)

Petroleum Chemistry U.S.S.R., 1976
Abstract 1. 1. Esters of neopentylpolyols and α-branched monocarboxylic acids were synthesized and their physical and chemical and operational properties examined. 2. 2. Synthetic esters with an increased content of quaternary carbon atoms were characterized by an increased temperature of solidification and improved lubricating properties ...

Ester base stocks for synthetic lubricants

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1996
AbstractThis paper reports on work on the synthesis and characterisation of mixtures of aliphatic adipates with complex esters based on polyols, adipic acid, and monohydroxy alcohols, in order to formulate new synthetic base stocks. The viscosity and pour point values of these mixtures are higher than those of adipates.

Norethisterone and levonorgestrel esters: A novel synthetic method

Steroids, 1985
Aliphatic, alicyclic and arylcarboxylic esters of norethisterone and levonorgestrel were prepared in a one-step synthesis and in near-quantitative yield using trifluoroacetic anhydride.

Titanium ester homoenolates: a structural and synthetic study

Organometallics, 1993
The synthesis and structural characterization of the novel monomeric titanium homoenolates [(Cl)2-(cp)Ti-CH2CH2COOEt] (2), and [(cp)2Ti-CH2CH2COOEt]+ZnI3-(3; cp = eta5-C5H5) are reported, along with a structural study on the well-known homoenolate [{(Cl)2-Ti-CH2CH2COOEt)2(mu-Cl)2] (1), which is dimeric both in solution and in the solid state.

Hydrolytic stability of synthetic ester lubricants

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 2000
AbstractThis paper looks in detail at hydrolysis of esters. While this is not normally a problem, hydrolytic stability can be an important consideration, e.g., in air compressors. The paper looks first at the synthesis of esters, which is a reversible reaction of acid + alcohol ↔ ester + water, usually involving a catalyst.

Analysis of the ester constituents of synthetic and semi‐synthetic oils

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication, 1985
AbstractThe analysis of lubricating oils commonly practised in petroleum laboratories is important in following the evolution of products available on the market. Several analysis methods have been proposed, particularly by Van Rysselberge, 1 Amos2 and Coates.3 All these extremely useful methods make use of conventional separation and identification ...

Synthetic Lubricants Based on Sebacic Complex Esters

World Tribology Congress III, Volume 1, 2005
The paper present the results carried out in order to produce synthetic ester oils with a complex structure on the basis of sebacic acid with beneficial tribological properties. Three series of unsymmetrical diesters have been synthesized by taking into account superior aliphatic alcohols such as 2-ethyl-hexanol, isodecanol and isotridecanol along with
