Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Modelling Nonlinear Preloaded Multi-Bolted Systems on the Operational State

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2016
Modelling and calculations of asymmetrical multi-bolted connections at the operational stage are presented. The physical model of the joint is based on a flexible flange element that is connected with a flexible support by means of the rigid body bolt ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Study of the Distribution of Normal Contact Pressure Between Parts Joined in a Multi-Bolted System under Operational Loads

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2019
Modelling and calculations of unsymmetrical multi-bolted connections treated as a system for different bolt models and contact layer models between the joined parts are presented. The modelling refers to preloaded and externally loaded connections.

Could Inflammaging and Its Sequelae Be Prevented or Mitigated? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Aged humans display a chronic and low-grade inflammation, termed "inflammaging", which has been potentially linked to the subsequent development of some aging-associated systemic disorders, including type 2 diabetes, atherosclerotic cardiovascular ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
