Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Systems Biology and the Biology of Systems

Physiology, 2010
When I sit down to write an editorial for Physiology, I flatter myself that the two or three people who will ultimately read it want to hear my thoughts on a “big” topic. It strikes me that, within the rarefied realm of academic biology, there few bigger topics, or at least few topics more ...

Membrane systems in systems biology

2008 9th International Workshop on Discrete Event Systems, 2008
Membrane systems were introduced by Gh. Paun in 1998 as a class of distributed parallel computing devices of biochemical type, inspired from the functioning of living cells. Since then, they have been the subject of various studies, aimed at investigating and point out many aspects related to their computational power and efficiency. More recently, the
