Most in vitro cancer models lack cellular diversity, functional complexity, and clinical relevance. This work highlights the generation of an innovative dynamic tetraculture with autologous patient‐derived cells within a vascularized tumor‐on‐chip, as well as the recapitulation of endothelial anergy features induced by the tumor microenvironment ...

Predictable patterns of CTL escape and reversion across host populations and viral subtypes in HIV-1 evolution [PDF]
The twin processes of viral evolutionary escape and reversion in response to host immune pressure, in particular the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response, shape Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1 sequence evolution in infected host populations. The tempo of CTL escape and reversion is known to differ between CTL escape variants in a given host population.

JC virus-DNA detection is associated with CD8 fffector accumulation in peripheral blood of patients with multiple sclerosis under natalizumab treatment, independently from JC virus serostatus [PDF]
Although natalizumab (anti-α4 integrin) represents an effective therapy for relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), it is associated with an increased risk of developing progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), caused by the polyomavirus ...

NeoCast is a next‐generation, solvent‐free, non‐adhesive liquid embolic designed for indications where deep occlusion is desired (e.g., tumors and chronic subdural hematoma). This novel agent offers ideal embolic properties: injectability, controllability, excellent visibility, and biocompatibility.

Zero-sum subsets of decomposable sets in Abelian groups [PDF]
A subset $D$ of an Abelian group is $decomposable$ if $\emptyset\ne D\subset D+D$. In the paper we give partial answer to an open problem asking whether every finite decomposable subset $D$ of an Abelian group contains a non-empty subset $Z\subset D$ with $\sum Z=0$.

A panel of reagents (OKT1, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 11) detects differentiation antigens expressed exclusively on HuTLA+ T lymphoid cells but absent on bone marrow precursors, such as terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase- (TdT) positive cells, immature ...

Impact of aging : sporadic, and genetic risk factors on vulnerability to apoptosis in Alzheimer's disease [PDF]
The identification of specific genetic (presenilin-1 [PS1] and amyloid precursor protein [APP] mutations) and environmental factors responsible for Alzheimer's disease (AD) has revealed evidence for a shared pathway of neuronal death.

Immunosuppressive Formulations for Immunological Defense against Traumatic Brain Injury
A novel subcutaneous formulation combining alpha‐ketoglutarate, glycolysis inhibitor PFK15, and a myelin peptide reduces inflammation in a mouse TBI model. This formulation promotes regulatory immune cells, enhances autophagy, and improves motor function, suggesting its potential as a prophylactic immunosuppressive therapy to mitigate TBI‐induced ...

A Note on Bimodules and $II_1$-Subfactors [PDF]
A brief introduction into bimodules of $II_1$-factors is presented. Furthermore a version of the following result due to M. Pimsner and S. Popa is derived: Let $N=M_{-1}\subset M=M_0 \subset M_1 \subset M_2 \subset \ldots$ denote the Jones tower of a $II_1$-factor $N\subset M$ with finite index.

This study uses gut microbiome data to predict corticosteroid response in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Fecal samples from 212 patients with ITP are sequenced. Six machine‐learning algorithms are used to train predictive models. The support vector machine‐based model integrated clinical data and selected microbial species, diversities ...
