Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

SENP7 senses oxidative stress to sustain metabolic fitness and antitumor functions of CD8+ T cells

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2022
The functional integrity of CD8+ T cells is tightly coupled to metabolic reprogramming, but how oxidative stress directs CD8+ T cell metabolic fitness in the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains elusive.

Overexpression of NtDOG1L-T Improves Heat Stress Tolerance by Modulation of Antioxidant Capability and Defense-, Heat-, and ABA-Related Gene Expression in Tobacco

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Drought and heat stresses are two major environmental stress factors that severely threaten crop growth and productivity. Plant delay of germination 1-like (DOG1L) family genes play important roles in various developmental processes and stress responses.

Fracture Mechanism of Crack-Containing Strata under Combined Static and Harmonic Dynamic Loads Based on Extended Finite Elements

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Based on the existing research results, a theoretical fracture model of strata under the compound impact of static and harmonic dynamic load is improved, and the fracture characteristic parameters (stress intensity factor, T-stress, and fracture ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Study on the Influence of T Stress Component on the Tensile Initiation Angle of Compression-shear Closed Crack

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2020
The traditional theory of fracture mechanics only considers the singular stress term in the Williams expansion term of the stress field at the crack tip. There is a big difference between the theoretical predicted value and the experimental value of the ...

Effect of Freeze-Thaw Damage on the Physical, Mechanical, and Acoustic Behavior of Sandstone in Urumqi

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The Urumqi area in China is a seasonally cold region, and the rock structures in the region are susceptible to freeze-thaw (F-T) weathering. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of F-T on the physical, mechanical, and fracture behavior of ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

T-stress of Concrete under Four-point Bending

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th International Conference on Fracture Mechanics of Concrete and Concrete Structures, 2016
Mixed mode stress-intensity factors (SIFs) and the T-stress for different geometries of four-point bending specimens were calculated by means of finite element analysis through a software suite Abaqus, where the influence of the loading point and crack location were considered.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
